Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction: 7 Essential Ingredients for Living a Prosperous Life

“Choosing Truth”
by Jeanna Gabellini

Last month's article focused on the childhood game of Truth or Dare. I spoke directly to choosing dares and how you can dare yourself to take action on something that seemed far out of reach.

I want to note that since that article was written, my friends and I came up with a new way to play the game. When it's your turn, you can choose “Dare“ or “Extreme Dare“ There was no choice of “Truth.“ Well, of course, the “dare's“ were much more outrageous and entertaining to watch as an observer, but Truth is much more powerful in the bigger picture of life.

In my view, there are only two useful ways to tell the truth. One is for clarity of how you are feeling now. If you are feeling wonderful, it's great to share with other folks so that they can vibrate that feeling with you. If you are feeling low (sad, frustrated, anger, etc.), you can acknowledge it and then clarify how you'd like to feel. It is NOT useful, though, to tell the your truth over and over again when you're feeling low, or keep telling the story of why it is so bad to others. Why? Because it keeps you in that same feeling and experiencing the negative emotions along with it.

Now I am not saying to push down your truth when it feels bad. I am saying to acknowledge it, then get off it and start telling the truth about how you want to feel or want the outcome to be. For instance, last weekend I had a negative situation happening in my life that felt pretty serious. So I would acknowledge the pain, coach myself, and get outside coaching to move into a non-resistant place about it. Then I'd go play to get my emotions in a better place.

The only other time to tell the truth is to create more connection with others or give information to those inquiring. It's also important to remember there are only two truths: The Laws of Physics (Law of Gravity, Universal Laws of Attraction, etc.) and our personal truths that come from our experience.

For instance, just because you see a study done in the news on nutrition, doesn't mean it is the truth. It means the results are the beliefs of what the folks doing
the study concluded. Remember most things are not what they appear.

Also important to note: Just because something has been a certain way up to this point, doesn't mean it has to be your truth now or in the future. Get off the fact that you have had to work hard to create income or the old truth that your relationship is less than wonderful. This is not useful information unless you use it to choose a new truth.

Now, here is way to use truth as a way to manifest what you want. We're going to use money as the example here. If your expenses exceed your income on a consistent basis, it is harmful to keep telling the truth about it. Why?! Because your focus and emotions are amplified on the fact that you are broke. NO good will come of it. None!

But, it is useful to acknowledge it and then ask yourself, “What is the truth I want to be living about my income?“ Once you get clear, you say it the same way as you would speak something that is happening in your current reality. You say, matter of factly, “I am bringing in so much income that I am starting to take action on all of the things on my wish list. It is so fun!“

This is not like speaking an affirmation. You must practice this as your reality; your truth. That is the only way to have it. When others around you start talking about their financial “hells,“ do NOT chime in. To choose the truth you want to be in takes guts, a firm belief in the Laws of Attraction, and knowing you are worthy of this desire. In case you forgot, YOU ARE WORTHY OF ANY GOAL YOU CAN CONJURE UP IN YOUR MIND. PERIOD!

Once you sit in your desired “truths,“ it will be quite natural to take actions (do dares ;-) ) that will support this outcome. If someone asks you about your finances, kids, partner, or business, tell them they are doing better and better each day. If the person doing the asking is of some knowledge on the topic they are asking, do make requests for suggestions to support your desired truth. For instance, “I am building my investment portfolio and want to know the best
strategy to support a million dollar income.“

It's also very helpful to look at your truth about your beliefs. This way you know exactly why you're getting what you are getting in your life (both positive and negative).

Below are few questions you can ask yourself to see what your dominant thoughts, beliefs, and feelings are around that topic. If you don't like what your truth is, you will need to begin practicing some new truths about that topic.

  • The way I feel about my relationship with money is ...?
  • What has me tolerating unpleasant things in my life?
  • Am I loving my job or business or not working?
  • What things have I been procrastinating on? Why? What would it be like to delegate those things or just not do them?
  • I've been wanting to invest in ___________ , and I'm holding off because ...?
  • Am I walking my talk? What else could I practice to be the person I want to be?
  • What is my greatest fear right now?
  • What is truly wonderful about me?
  • What's your truth right now as you reading this?
  • What do you want your truth to be?
