“Live the Dream”
The Jamie Bianchini & Garryck Hampton Story

The story of Jamie and Garryck has two main points I'm interested in driving home with all of you. The first point is they had a dream and every obstacle to get in the way; they went for it anyway. The second point is that they were able to create total freedom and prosperity and the dream created the inspiration for it all.

In 1992, Jamie was hanging with his best friend, Garryck, in college and the dream was born. Both had an interest in culture, mountain biking, and travel.

Idea #1
Riding bikes together around the world

In 1995-1996, they found themselves $70,000 in debt and both had found significant others they were going to marry. In 1999, they both came out of debt and out of their relationships. The possibility of the dream came alive again.

The first step in making it real was they set a date to leave in April 2002. The next step was making a commitment to start saving money and focusing on the ride. They also made a decision to go on the trip NO MATTER WHAT.

They sold everything they had and closed everything but one bank account. Their friends and family were worried and constantly telling them they were crazy and going to ruin their careers. They knew those fears were coming from a place of lack, so they paid no attention. Jamie and Garryck both come from an abundance mentality that says there is a shortage of NOTHING!

They had saved about $20,000 in cash. (I want to point out here that Garryck is an English teacher in Korea. We typically make up a story that teachers make small incomes. It's time to get out of your box if you think any profession is stuck with a small salary.) He chose to be the best teacher he could be and was so well sought after that he only worked 25 hours a week and was able to bike about 300 miles a week. He stashed away several thousands of dollars a month to boot! How can you make more money doing the same job or business you are currently in? What if you started something new on the side?

Okay, now the fun begins. Garryck read a book, “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,“ where a few guys go on a drug binge and pick up different people along their trip. If they were going to do this for 5 years, how about making something good happen? Peace Peddlers was born.

Let's get sponsors to create about $50k worth of gear

They got their sponsors (currently, they have 53 sponsors from four different countries). After 100 hours, each bike was hand made! They each had a tandem to put new friends on as they traveled through every new town and country,

Scroll down to the heading on the right, “Latest Photos,“ and click on the link titled, “Our First Year on Tour.“ They visited folks from all walks of life and rode and rode and rode. Even a blind person had their very first bike ride with them.

Now, it wasn't all smooth sailing. One of their bikes was stolen two months into the trip in China. Traditionally this is a place where you cannot recover stolen bikes as they have some of the best bike thieves in field. Yes, Jamie and Garryck had hefty bike locks, but they never believed that someone would have the tools to cut through them.

Idea #5
Let's get the local community involved to help us recover our bike

There was no way they were going to go home and abandon the dream. They were clear: there was no option other than to get the bike back. Garryck and Jamie posted fliers all over the neighborhood and offered a reward. They were featured on the front page of the biggest newspaper on Sunday. So, many folks called into the Police Station and that inspired them to create a sting operation. The bike was found on the black market being sold for $45 three days later!

Jamie set himself up so that his business in telecommunications consulting is creating passive income. He is earning money even when he is on the other side of the world. He is in the process, now, of bringing two additional inventions to market. He told me this past weekend that NONE of this would be happening if he hadn't followed the dream. Inspired ideas are flowing into him effortlessly!

Jamie and Garryck are home now until October (2003), then they will ride off to more foreign lands to challenge other folks to follow their dream regardless of their obstacles.

The treasures from the story that I see are:

• Keep your eye on the vision.
• Follow your inspired ideas; they lead to more (Laws of Attraction).
• Decide on your outcome; the outside circumstances will fall in line to serve your desire.
• Play big; it's fun!
