“What Will Ensure That This Year Is Different?”

Ya know, last year wasn't so bad. But, I'm a girl who has big dreams. Faster than I'm crossing things off the list, I'm adding more desires. I want it all and it's fun to see how things unfold for myself.

I began the year 2004 with five other women expressing our vision of our best year ever and cutting photos out of magazines to create treasure maps for each of us. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, a treasure map is a visual of your dreams, goals, and desires. Not only did we get crystal clear on what we wanted to have this year, but what would be manifested in our lives by the next time we gathered in April. There's nothing like a little accountability to put a fire under your butt!

Now, let's it make it personal for you.

Okay, you will create anything you put on your wish list this year. You don't have to figure out this moment how you would do it. There are truly no limitations. Your only job is to make your preferences of what you want on that list. What would jack you out of your mind to have happen this year? Think about what would delight you in terms of your career, play time, relationships, health, personal growth, spirituality, prosperity, and the space you live in. Take time now to actually write down 10-20 of the most meaningful desires.

How do feel when you look at your list? I want your lips to be curling up at the corners in smile because you are so excited imagining your life with this list as a reality. If you are not smiling, not to fear. We will be touching on some points that relieve any blocks to having pure joy about what you are truly going to create for yourself. Remember, you are learning to be more masterful at attracting and allowing yourself to receive all that you want. These skills are not about working really hard to figure out the answers and forcing yourself to do things you don't like. It is a whole different mental and emotional state.

Now, go back to your list. Re-write them as “I am“ statements. I will give you some examples in a moment. You are saying these desires as if they are so and already happening. For instance, a few of my desires for this year are buying a ski boat, getting married, moving back to my hometown to a house with a view, and having several spiritual sabbaticals. I would state those in the present like this:

• I am a proud owner of a turn-on-a-dime ski boat.
• I am getting married.
• I am buying a house in Martinez with the most amazing view.
• I am taking several spiritual retreats this year.

When I say these aloud, I am not speaking them as an affirmation. I'm not trying to talk myself into believing that they are true (although, you may have to begin that way). I am saying them because they are my truth. I have given my order to the Universe, and I fully expect to have all of this and more. Acting as if these things are already on their way to me is part of what will ensure that I have them. Think about it. How many times do you put out a wish or dream and immediately live as if it will be or is your reality? A lot of times we just cross our fingers and hope it will happen. Or we get into overwhelm about how to make it all happen. I assure you, this way is a lot less fun and it takes longer.

If I intend to get married this year, won't I start preparing? Yes! The day after I made my treasure map I tried on wedding gowns. My friends took photos of me and it made it even more real. Plus, it was an inspired action, so it was a blast. This is the second way to ensure you will manifest it all this year. If you have an inspired idea to take an action, do it! Even if the idea is off the wall. You have no idea what abundance it will bring you. I did not plan on trying on wedding dresses that day. We were shopping all day and just having a good time. I see a store at the end of the day that has the exact style I want and they happen to have a floor sample that fits me perfectly!

The third way to ensure that this year is the best ever is to put you first. Yep, honor what is best for you. Others' opinions and advice is usually given because they think they are helping you. If what they say feels good to you, it may be a fit. If it doesn't, check in with yourself. Your heart is always the best guide.

The fourth way to ensure that 2004 gives you more is to have fun and enjoy whatever you are doing. If you catch yourself starting to beat yourself up because you've been reading your book for three hours instead of cleaning the garage, STOP. Were you totally enjoying the book? If yes, great. In that moment you are a magnet to all the abundance you could ever want. You are in the flow! If you continue to beat yourself up, you are out of flow and now repelling what you want. So, either ease up on yourself or get out in the garage, put some good music on, get someone to help and enjoy.

And, as always, fully expect that you will manifest everything you want and more because you are worthy of anything you can conjure up on that wish list.

What are the secrets again to making sure this year is different?

• State your desires as if they are so.
• Take inspired actions, only.
• Listen to your heart and follow it.
• Enjoy whatever you are doing in the moment.
• Trust and expect that you will have whatever you want and more in
  2004.

And for goodness sake! Don't put only things you think are realistic on your list. If you do that, you are dreaming with other people's limitations all over you. Yuck! Nobody ever did anything extraordinary by playing by the majority's rules. Play by the Universal Laws of Attraction, which are laws of physics. Ask, allow, and receive.
